Third Sunday of Advent

Paul writes to the Philippians:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:4-7

Rejoice!!!

This is Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete is Latin for rejoice and the first word on the Entrance Antiphon:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice

All the readings call us to rejoice because Jesus Christ is coming

In Advent we celebrate his coming at Christmas to redeem us and prepare for his Second Coming.

!!Let us rejoice in Christ Jesus!!
