Science Fiction Becomes Current Fact.

The Future

Larry Niven and Jerry Pournell's classic Novel The Mote In God's Eye is set a thousand years in the future. One can not help but smile at the image the Imperial battleship Lenin, with an Icon to St Ekaterina and perpetual flame in the wardroom.

The Russian news site RT has a report that the newly commissioned nuclear submarine Aleksandr Nevsky will have a Russian Orthodox Chapel; the second Russian submarine to be so equipped..


When the novel was first published in the late 1970's, who would have guessed.
